Hi — I'm Peter. this trip, btw is a one-person shop: I design it, build it, and answer the email. No team, no investors, no growth deck — just a tool I wanted to exist, made carefully enough that I'd hand it to my own family.
What I'm going for
I'm a digital product designer, and I'm trying to be an honest craftsperson about it: make a service anyone can pick up in a minute, but that few could match if they looked closely. That means sweating the parts you're not supposed to notice — how fast it loads, how little it asks of you, what happens to your data the day you're done with it. The whole thing is one page and a map. The restraint is the craft.
Why it exists
It started with a real cross-country move — driving a kid out to college, two vehicles, a mom flying in halfway, national parks in between. Four people, one trip, and no simple, private way to keep a shared map without handing our data to something that wanted it in return. So I built the thing I wished had existed.
How I stay honest
You pay a few dollars once, so you're the customer — not the product. No ads, no trackers, no free tier dangling your data as the real price. I don't run analytics, and I never build a profile of you — building a trip asks nothing of you at all, and buying one tells me your email and which trips are yours — only if you choose to make an account, and that is the whole record. It's a one-person shop that makes things people actually use — not things that use them.
