1. What the service is
this trip, btw ("the service", "we", "us") lets you create a private, map-based trip that you and others can view and edit through a link. You pay a one-time fee per trip.
We record trips; we don’t verify them. Whatever you, your crew, or an AI assistant puts on the map is shown as entered — we don’t check that a flight exists, a road is open, or a date is right. Before you travel, confirm the details with the people and companies actually involved.
2. Using it
You must be old enough to form a binding agreement where you live (and if you're a minor, have a parent or guardian's permission). Anyone you share an edit link with can add to and change the trip, so share it thoughtfully. Don't misuse the service — that includes breaking the law with it, infringing others' rights, uploading malware, trying to break or overload our systems, scraping, or accessing trips you weren't given a link to.
3. Payment & refunds
Trips are a one-time purchase at the price shown, handled by Stripe. Prices and tiers may change, but a change won't affect a trip you've already bought. If something isn't right, email support@thistripbtw.us — we handle refunds case by case and aim to be fair.
4. Your content is yours
The stops, notes, photos, and everything else you and your crew add to a trip belong to you. By adding it, you give us the limited permission we need to store it and display it back to the people who have your trip's link — nothing more. You're responsible for what you upload, and for having the right to share it. Don't post anything illegal, infringing, or that violates someone's privacy.
5. Availability & deletion
We work to keep the service running but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. You can delete a trip and all its contents at any time. "Plan it" trips also auto-delete after one year by design. We may remove content or suspend access that breaks these terms or the law.
6. No warranty
The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee it will meet every need, be uninterrupted, or that data will never be lost — please keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the trip in question.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make a significant change, we'll note it here with a new date. Continuing to use the service means you accept the current version.
